      Aspen March 2015

... I walked the 2 blocks down Main St to the bus stop to Snowmass. I got off at the Snowmass Mall stop and walked in to the plaza to Four Mountain Sports where I had reserved demo skis. I chose the Nordica Wild Belle in 161 length. Next, I stopped by the ticket office and picked up my lift pass. This year I purchased a Mountain Collective Pass. The Mountain Collective is a consortium of different resorts and purchasing the pass allows you ...

After dinner we had to hightail it from the Venetian down to the MGM Grand to have our minds blown by David Copperfield. It was an amazing show and some of the **** he did was so incredible. ... Apple Strudel and Hot Chocolate. Warm and filling it certainly tasted good and was very much appreciated.

Once again it was a day for the Austrians. The very parochial American crowd desperately wanted local girl Michaela Shriffrin to win and although leading after the first run, her 2nd run was rather scratchy and she finished 5th. Nikki Hosp absolutely nailed the course and scored her first World Cup victory since 2008. She was one happy girl. Our Swedish ...

... vulture over the wheel. I would imagine the roads in Europe are even more challenging, geez. Headed north thru Ridgway, definitely a cattle town, i continued to Montrose. It is again, high altitude scrub desert here, lots of sagebrush. Its dry, dusty, rocky and very hot. It does seem like a natural, slightly more vegatative version of Utah. Once i hit Montrose, a full service city, i headed west towards Gunnison. I knew tonight would be my ...
