Just when we thought Venice was the most beautiful place we would visit in Italy, Varenna may have beaten it into second place. Neither of us can get our heads round the fact that we are actually seeing what's around us. The apartment is amazing and the views from the balcony alone are worth the trip. Claire has also befriended a blind cat so we keep having to think of excuses to go and see the lady so Claire can rub the cat.

After a very good meal in a fish restaurant called Elsa's, recommended by our host, we had an excellent night's sleep in the brass bed in our palatial rooms, decorated with antiques, marble reliefs and oil paintings.

We arranged to have breakfast at 8:30 in the morning and we went to our room and looked up things to do for the next few days. We plan of finding more Geocaches which is also great because it takes us to take us to areas we might have never gone to. We also want to catch the ferry or bus to Bellagio.
