Friday 19th Sept Last night by chance we ran into Alessandro in the street as we were on our way to dinner. Alessandro joined us for drinks ( send pic) and suggested a Jewish restaurant called Gam Gam for dinner. ... to cross and we did stand up even if we felt a little wobbly. We had a quiet walk through the Sestier fo Cannaregio to Fondamente Nuove vaporetto dock.

It seemed very much a residential district and we even saw a small supermarket there. We decided we did want to spend more time in this quiet area away from the main body of tourists. We do plan to visit the ghetto which in this area and I am sure when we come back we will see some grooups there but area it self ...

... lead us towards the main squares which helped us find the major tourist spots but that meant lots of people flooding narrow streets. Piazza San Marco was a highlight with beautiful old buildings, policemen, hundreds of pigeons and tour groups galore. It was so different to the buildings down the skinny streets and to come out into a square that was surrounded by prestigious buildings was pretty special. We got a gondola ride leaving ...
