After yet another late night on Saturday we spent sunday doing our chores, laundry and blogging. In the evening we met the group that became our close friends over the next week and we had yet another night out salsa dancing in a popular locals spot just around the corner from our hostel.

... that we decided to drive the rental into downtown San Juan and its jumble of narrow one way roads. The day in the old city drew a pretty interesting distinction for me. On the mainland, we are almost obsessive about our old buildings - we look at an old structure like Independence Hall and marvel at its condition after a couple hundred years. ... directed to the forward part of the ship on deck 3. We all had to wear "In Transit" stickers since we were in transit to Barbados. That sticker thankfully kept us out of the huge line. We were escorted to an immigration station without a line. At first that officer did not quite understand our status, but we finally made it through his scrutiny.

... firefighters back in the early 20th century for their hard work and dedication. Every year for 50 straight years, a new house was built for a firefighter of that time. The houses still look to be in great shape and are all look exactly identical to one another. I thought that was very cool! I enjoyed myself and the best part of it all: we got to stay on an air-conditioned bus most of the time. Ha!

... and taking a night tour of a biolumescent lagoon but time and the rains got the best of us. Tickets from Orlando to San Juan are frequently priced around $150 round trip so I am certain another trip will soon be in our future. Till then, I have my memories of the beautiful streets of Old San Juan and the amazing flavors of the food. I'll be back!!!
