After we check in to the hotel and organize our things, we take the water shuttle across the Guidecca Canal to the main island of Venice. ... we’re charmed to discover the little rooftop terrace right next to our room, which will double up as our breakfast location. And at last, we can unpack! ... clay in the bottom of the river? How clever . Marble was only for decoration or for those who could afford it. We got to go through the smaller canals as well (tip for those going in the future) as in the morning the smaller canals used for delivery so they're closed up till 3pm. The colour on the buildings and the flowers on the window sills are stunning.

... she told me about a concert that was taking place at the San Giovanni Evangelista church tonight. She was working the door, so she told me to come by and she'd give me a discount. So I took her up on her offer, which turned out to be a great deal - she sold me a student ticket, which means I only paid 5€ instead of the usual 20€. I am liking this girl. I think I'll keep her.
