Catavinia - Desierto e pinturas

San Diego

... all laid out in grids with all their different blocks, it's weird! After that we cruised on down to Pacific and Mission Beach where I tried an America fav- burito's (to be honest it wasn't that great but I did only pay $2.50!) and then wondered down alongside the beach for a while. Just before we got on the van we spotted a Cold Stone ice creamery (just like a Cold Rock from Australia) and I just ...

Day 14 Drive to San Diego

... lunch is next. Earnie suggested we visit the "all you can Eat" Homestyle buffet. We feed ourselves for the total cost of $23. A really good deal and it allows an eggs or tomato on toast for tea/dinner. Reset Mandy and away we go. Leaving LA behind us along freeways, we stopped for a 20 min cuppa stop because the driver was a little tired. The castle was a little dwarfed amongst the 18 wheelers at the rest stop but we had a chance to test run the generator to brew the ...

And I head east....

... Dried mucus is splattered on the wall. Take a **** that is from down deep, I tell you! Ah, what a relief. Fat hairy old fag sidles up to the next urinal to check out my dry goods. Ignore that ugly queer and turn to the row of sinks. Using rough brown paper towels from the dispenser, wipe down the water and whatever from the area you plan to use. Hair, snot, and other particles clog the drain as the image in the mirror of a red eyed slack jawed phantom stares back ...

... it even goes around the right way as did the "Rolex's" that we saw! We went into a Farmaceutica and got some drugs!!! I tell you, these places are incredible. You can get anything there with no script. Antibiotics, anti-hypertensives, hormones, maxalon, viagra etc. Even advertise Viagra as a Christmas present. No, Rick didn't buy any, he's not at that stage yet. I reconised a lot of the names although some were in mexican (metoclopramida). Got some Zovirax cream for $3 each, some ...

... a high of around 75, back to you." I really couldn't believe it! Thanks again for all of your support guys! I didn't think people would read this blog as much as my round the world blog since it was the US and a lot of you have seen these places, but I still was shocked at the amount of people who would write me that they were reading it. Thanks so much- it was so hard leaving all my amazing friends and family ...

Day 6: Brawley, CA to Salome, AZ

... onto US-60 from I-10. We started in Blythe, elevation 250', and finished in Salome, elevation 1880'. The numerous climbs were long and gradual, and I felt like Jan Ulrich, as we climbed all day in the big gear. We celebrated our state line crossing with margaritas and a toast to our accomplishments before enjoying a delicious dinner of salad, tortellini, meatballs, sauce, and fresh bread. I am going to try to finish my book before retiring for the night.

Baja Trip Summary

... happens to experienced riders all the time but it was a first for me, and it signaled how comfortable I'm becoming on this bike. Kinda' cool. Lots of military checkpoints. They all seemed really excited to search the bike but once they realized what a pain in the ass it is to unpack most waved me on. One guy actually pointed to the saddlebag and asked "drogas?" I said no and he let me go. Good to see the honor system still works sometimes :-) In ...
