... to wash it all down...I think you get the pattern here. We were picked up by Guidio and Monica to take a quick trip to Livigno for some duty free petrol and shopping. A busy snow town up once again on the border past bormio it was really busy with the Easter skiing crowd. We grabbed a quick caffe and then headed back to Tirano for dinner at Catherine (Katrina called Seena) we had an unusual risotto with ...

... and some spices and then Covered with gravy. Also some chops marinated in the same way and then grilled perhaps served quite rare and very tasty. Usual wine and red wine/fizzy water mix and then caffe with cake for those that could still move. After a quick tidy which I am not allowed to be involved with Claudio took us to look at the church of Mary where the virgin was supposed to have appeared and then a church built in her honour was built over the place. Aldo Gloria and their two children are upstairs. Luisa and Laura came to pick us up and dropped us off home ...

... an amazing feat of switchback tunnels etc to allow the train to travel at its maximum slope. On the way down you see the same church 5 or 6 times as you wander back and forth. There was a couple on the train drinking wine and enjoying a quiet wander thru each town and he regaled us with tales of the pass from the last 50 years..rather amusing. Well worth the time and effort to get to this amazing ...

... second course was many cheeses and sliced meats that Claudio who is Luisa's husband has made and has stored in the large cellar at the base of the house. There are also the vats for the wine that I think kane helped to press 18 months ago. We finished with a bit of a "fragolla torta" and a tiramisu that Laura had made. Both very nice and then expresso for those that could fit it in. By this time it was probably 9.30 and I was flagging badly..more than rocco the grandson who is ...
