we stayed in hotel for one week and all that was wrong was one week was not long enough, rooms very clean, pool lovely very pleased
Nos alojamos en el hotel una semana y lo único malo fue que una semana no fue suficiente, las habitaciones estaban muy limpias y la piscina era preciosa, estuvimos encantados.
Had a fantastic time in the San Antonio Hotel. Was there for a week & it was not long enough. The hotel was spotless, room cleaned every day & maids were very friendly. Bar staff very helpfull & friendly. Entertainment was average, mostly aimed at the older generation. There was a mini club for kids but unfortunately it was not open. Had a 2 yr old boy to keep entertained. The kiddies pool was salt water so not very practical but my son loved the adventure playground. Pool area spotless & pools cleaned every night. Food in Restaurant was very varied & a lot to choose from. Hotel Reception staff not very helpful or friendly but my overall holiday was fantastic & I will be returning very soon. Definetaly recommend this one.
Had 1 week in San Antonio Hotel, room with a sea view (on the second Floor), definitely the best holiday we`ve had. The room was very good, standard of hotel was easily worth the 4 star rating. Restaurant & Bars all excellent, good choice of food. We saw the evening entertainment twice, an Abba tribute band and a parrot show, both great fun. Lots to do in Puerto del Carmen in the day - catamaran sailing, submarine dive, camel rides on the Grand Tour etc., good craic in the evenings too, Rancho Texas night, Medieval Times night, comedy at Scotties'. A superb hotel, resort and holiday.
Good Holiday at the San Antonio
Just back from the San Antonio, temeratures 105f most afternoons....unusually hot..thank goodness for the air-conditioning in the lovely rooms.
Without doubt the San Antonio is a very good hotel.
It is in a prime position on the seafront and only a few minutes from the the bars, shops etc at Puerto Del Carmen.
It is fifteen years since I visited Lanzarote (Rocas Negras Apartments just across the road from San Antonio) and although there has been a lot of development, it hasn't spoiled what is still a beautiful Island. An air conditioned rental car is a must. Hertz at the airport are very good (booked through Holidayautos in UK). Car was virtually brand new only 1700km on thre clock.
The only negative I can think of regarding The San Antonio is that the varied evening entertainment may not always please teenagers but I enjoyed it.
The food is plentiful and varied although I found that I didn't need much of a main course as I couldn't resist the starter section, it was so good.
Excellent lounge and bar where the service is superb with prices very reasonable.
I would be happy to return anytime although I would like it to be a bit cooler.
I arranged the holiday independently and got a good hotel deal with MedHotels
My fiance and myself are just back from the San Antonio Hotel July 2004 and unfortunately we were not too impressed. On the plus side, the rooms were quite nice, pools were lovely and the beach was also beautiful. However we found the staff very rude and unhelpful and the lack of a smile or greeting really took from our holiday experience as we were made to feel as though we were an inconvenience - not paying guests. When we asked at reception how to go about joining in the activities (which were very varied), the receptionist was very abrupt and walked away as we were mid sentence. This was day one and only one example as there is a lack of space here, but rest assured this theme continued for the fortnight at the bar, restaurant etc. However the staff are the only flaw here. Facilities are wonderful otherwise. We however will not be returning!
Me encantaría vivir aquí algún día.
Well what a quality hotel San Antonio is. The whole atmosphere in the hotel and the layout is great. With internal shops and staff who are always willing to help. I can't resist mentioning the piano available for guests to use. The food is excellent and the beach and surrounding area are beautiful. I would love to live here one day.
I recently stayed at the San Antonio with a friend (she is wheel-chair bound) and all I will say is the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful.
Nothing was too much trouble for them and they would always great you with a smile and ask how you were.
There was a great variety of entertainment (good entertainment) in the evenings which meant you did not have too go too far.
We enjoyed the holiday so much that we have booked to go back to the San Antonio in August this year.
Very good staying
I have just been at the San Antonio and I had great time. Even if rooms miss a bit f charme and are not very big they are very functional. Common areas (pools, jim, bars, restaurant,...) and services were excellent. Staff was terrific. I was there with my wife and a 6 months old baby. Because of the baby we were not easy clients but everybody was extremely friendly and always ready to help us. The night shows at the bar were very nice, drinks were very good. The buffet at brekfast, lunch and dinner was huge, always very rich and fresh. Don't expect high cuisine but it is much more than in other places. Also the other guests were very nice (mainly Italy, UK, Germany) and most of them had returned to the San Antonio for the third or fourth time. I had a very good rate so the value was terrific. Go, you will not regret !!

Lanzarote was my son's first holiday abroad and he loved it! We did the volcano tour and the Submarine Safari is awesome, We went on a day trip on Catlanza which was fantastic, the staff were wonderful, The hotel was brilliant, and we also went Go-Karting with Lanzarote Go-Karting, it is run by ...
... sun. Not the wind so much and you get dust from the Sahara blowing in which made it impossible to see Lanzarote across the way at times.
I found a relaxed hostel at the north end of town that had a nice back yard and deck leading down to the shore. I didn't get up to much during my time here apart from the beach, sun and cheap food and drink. Caught some of the World Cup matches and the F1 at a local bar, Alis Tavern, run by an Irish lady and her Italian boyfriend that was good ...
... fruit... Lazing by the pool, we topped up our tan and I even managed to get sunburnt feet! Although cold, the pool was a welcome place to cool-off.
Soaking up every last ray of sunshine, we didn't head to dinner until 8.30pm and walked along the gorgeous water front, back to Playa Cucharas for my birthday dinner - the waiter treated me to a sparkler in my drink (just like at Valentines haha). Our last day ...
... large, a second table was required, just for the plate! Rolling our bellies down the hill, we head to the Island Bar, for a live music night. The owner Cara and her husband Rory, are friends with my cousin, and Rory has us clapping and cheering all night long with his very entertaining music. We met the coolest taxi driver on the ride home, who complemented my (drunken) Spanish, and told us how the water, electricity and petrol plants are side-by-side, so if one goes... they all do!
... using the chairs. But it was only 6 euros a person for the whole day. Which was not bad at all considering the umbrella was our only escape from the blistering hot sun. We hung out there for a few hours bathing in the sun and even took turns going in the water. The ocean was crystal clear and the softest sand, it was beyond amazing. Then Em had to run some protein filled water bottles to the special drop station and said she'd be back in an hour. ...
