I've just popped over to Malta for a day & a bit (as you do!) to say a quick hello / goodbye to my parents (and bring them lots of goodies over for the last time in a while).

The weather is a little warmer than the UK, but not as warm as it's going to be in a week's time (ha ha ha).

Anyway, I'll keep this blog short so ciao for now!

Anita x
Mellieha, Island of Malta, Malta oltona... war, as a spit fire pilot. He was given money, a new set of clothes and the offer to immigrate when the war finished. He turned Australia down as he was scared of snakes and NZ down as he was scared of the 14000 sheep that existed at that time. He wanted to just stay in Malta and has remained there ever since. He really liked us because NZer's were allies in the war and just before we left told he did not like the Italians who fought beside the ...
Malta, Malta sewtersojourns... without her. She speaks no English and I’m starting to envision the scenario when she is left behind. She didn’t want to come with us because she was tired after the Montserrat tour and she was already mad at Juju for bringing her. I run back to the cathedral where Juju last saw her and I come back without finding her. Somehow she just shows up a few minutes later. Later we head to a museum and into a theater to hear ...
Valletta, Island of Malta, Malta hiwhthi... I needed to go. You know the best part about Malta? If you approach someone they don't turn their head away, ignore you and scuttle off like in Marseille. Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention yesterday that two French girls needed my assistance at the airport in getting to town,. As much as it pained me I did the right thing and helped them out as best I could since I was new to the game here, too. They did not thank me at all and seemed upset ...
Malta, Malta atlpilot36... better than what I saw last year at Barcelona, and I'd be tempted to say I like it better than the drunken bash at N'awlins, but... naah. I like New Orleans, except from a jail cell. It's definitely no match for the affair they put on at Recife in Brazil, which is a work of folk expression and dedication second to none. Malta's has some similarities to the Brazilian event with its grandstand displays and performances, but that's where the ...
Valletta, Island of Malta, Malta hardiekHey guys Well after Florence we had our train tickets booked to head further south to Sicily and then over to Malta on the ferry. We arrived at the train station nice and early so not to miss the train only to find out that our first train to Naples was delayed by more than 2 hours which would cause us to miss the next train from Naples to Sicily, DRAMAS. So after arriving at the train station at 9am, two trains (one where I had to sit next to a lady with a screaming out of ...
Malta, Malta mitchellf26... to a cave called/at Gar Dhalam where they have found fossilised remains of animals that just don't fit with Malta - hippos, elephants, deer, foxes, wolves - that all either suffered with/had evolved into dwarfism or gigantism (can't remember what the correct terms are but they're good words!). We then head to the fishing village of Marsaxlokk for lunch - Ron's seafood restaurant (of ...
Valetta, Malta aussiepanda... told me that today the president of Malta was paying a visit to the club. Yes the president, as in the George W Bush equivalent (well the Maltese president is much cooler). Apparently he is from the area and once a year has morning tea at the club and today was the day! Sure enough a cavalcade turns up shortly afterwards and out steps the president of Malta! Whilst he had security guards etc it was nothing like the APEC summit so I got a good look at him. It came as no surprise when ...
St Paul's Bay, Malta andrew.galea... trippers and lack of transport annoying me. The swimming was superb, and the sightseeing even better. I found the rivalry between Gozotans and Malta interesting! Why does it always have to be like that? Just before we left our friend at La Kapitan served us up a refreshing glass of coke. We sat down and enjoyed it whilst waiting for the bus. Both he and his waitress were sad to see us leave. This then made me sad to be leaving. I'll go back one day.
