After our typical Greek breakfast of yogurt and honey, feta cheese with tomatoes and olives and bread, we did some hiking. We wanted to climb to the top of the rock to see the old fortress. The winding trail took up straight up with a tiny church halfway up. Wildflowers covered the rocky paths as we climbed. The higher we went the more dramatic the view of the lower town and the sea. After our fill ...

After another breakfast with the Zoto brothers, who drew us a map from Napflio to Tripoli which got us halfway, we pulled out our upcoming hotel's directions to get us to our place in Kardamyli. ... slight hint of crunch. The taste was sensational. €12.00.

I leave the very best for the end. This is the fried tiny "baby shrimps’ coming from the island of Symi. Never had them before and loved them. Crunchy and SO TASTY, deep orange color …with every bite you felt the freshness of the sea. This dish is surely not to be missed.

Of course I don’t intend to forget mentioning the freshly baked bread that Costas ...

... red mullet. It was SO FRESH, so tasty, and perfect. €15.00.

We had one grilled fish –fagri for €25. It was about of a kilo. (A kilo costs €50.00). Grilled right in front of us on the embers and served drizzled with virgin olive oil and lemon. Besides the freshness of the fish, the expertise cooking plays a significant role out here!

I did not want to leave without tasting the special dish here, the ...
