... back to our original hostel the next morning after visiting the market. The market was full of fresh fruit and seafood stalls and there were locals everywhere, it had a really great atmosphere. I do love the beaches but most of all I enjoy seeing the real Thai culture that you don't get in all the really touristy areas. After changing hostels we went for a walk along the river and took pictures in front of the large crab statue (I am still a tourist after all). We got lunch from ...

... a few failed attempts on the very user unfriendly travelsim, we decided to simply hail a taxi off the street and make our way to the company on Lamai beach. We instructed our driver to take us to Lamai beach, which she did so after about twenty minutes of travel. We were definitely not disappointed, it was gorgeous, white sandy, clear blue sea the sea was warm too. It was absolutely beautiful, a little bit of paradise for my birthday. We spent about 3 ours dipping in and out of the sea and sunbathing. We headed back to the hotel about 3 pm, we had told our guides we wanted to go somewhere nice for ...

Alas, the weather had improved but not enough to go to Sail Rock, so the next best thing was Kho Tao again. Having no option and knowing that every dive is different, I decided to go.

As usual, the mini-van arrived at the hotel and we were off.

At the jetty, they paired me up with a guy by the name of John, signed the appropriate disclaimers and away we went.

I I thought the first trip to Kho ...

... brought to us so we can follow them to the indoor section of the restaurant. Our food got wet in the process so they insist on starting our order over even though it's been an hour since we ordered. I'm starving! When they bring the food Tim starts hacking a lung up and has to step out before she finishes serving us. I'm thinking 'great, she has bird flu and we're all gonna get it'. I'm so happy to finally be full after a meal it was worth the ...
