Day One

After an 8 hour journey we finally arrived in Koh Samui with Donna, Danni and Emma. Our journey consisted of a boat from Phi Phi to Krabi, a coach to Surat Thani followed by another boat to Koh Samui. The coach journey was the worst part by far - it was so hot on there and it seemed as though the air-con wasn't working. …

Back in the islands again. After 2 months and 4000km through Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos & north Thailand, we are in Koh Samui and it's officially HOLIDAY TIME!!!! Being Christmas we splashed out and flew to Samui from Chiang Mai. It was a toss-up between 2 (yes 2) 12-hour bus journeys via Bangkok, and a 2-hour flight costing about US$125. The flight …

Driving to Koh Samui

The trip started from my hometown Penang. From the few blogs I had read, driving in Thailand can be very expensive due to the fuel price that reached up to RM4 per liter! Therefore, the most important thing to do before crossing the border was filling up the tank at Bukit Kayu Hitam. Before entering the border, you …

Took only an hour and ten minutes to get to Koh Samui and when we got the it was like another country! We headed to a place called Big Buddha beach and stayed in a hut called Mermaid! Was awesome and so …

Clean, comfortable with nice staff, a private terrace & swimming pool

This hotel offers everything that a backpacker needs: a good bed, a CLEAN room and bathroom, clean towels and free wifi at the reception area. Extra's: TV, swimming pool, private terrace, kind staff. Annoyances: noise from airplanes as they fly over when landing, no airco in cheap rooms, rooms across the street from the hotel reception. Good value for money!
