Well it's been almost 3 weeks of fun in the sun and it ain't letting up just yet. Our "deluxe" bungalow at Samui Island Resort didn't quite turn out as expected but the fact that the place is right on the beach, has a pool and is in the quieter part of town has made it our own little piece of paradise. The beach sand is nice and fine so is great for a natural exfoliant. It must look pretty weird to people walking past to see two girls in Gs rubbing sand onto every part of them, but it's reall...
Koh Samui, Thailand cherryThis morning we skipped the hotel buffet breakfast and went up the block to a nice Western-looking restaurant. The food was good and so was the service. We did some more walking around down the busy streets and went back to the mall from yesterday for one hour facials. Once again cutting it close, we raced back to our hotel on a sawngthaew (like a hop on, hop off pickup truck with benches in the back) and grabbed our bags. As we were leaving the room for the last time, Robert somehow broke th...
Ko Samui, Thailand travelingdivaWe had breakfast at our hotel by the beach (Chaweng Beach), and then walked along the shoreline for a long way. There were a ton of beachside massage stands, and manicures and pedicures. We also spotted the stinky drunk guy from the plane yesterday but walked past him undetected, thankfully. We stopped for drinks at a beachside patio and ordered pina coladas all round. I think they may be our new favourite drinks. Robert thinks he is metro for drinking them, but back home in Calgary he couldn...

... a tree and went for a dip in the rain. But it didnt stop. So we grabbed our stuff (now wet) after about 20 minutes and headed for one of the raised and covered wooden platforms that belonged to the expensive hotel.
We decided to have lunch there when the rain still didnt stop, and when the guy asked us if we were staying there I panicked and was instantly like "Yes". However Pete had already said no when we got a drink earlier! So I just backtracked and put it down ...
... was at 1pm even though the minibus was still there and they suggested we pay private hire which was way too much. I was pretty ****** off at this point as we were pretty stranded. The songthaews only hang around for the people who get off the boats and so they had gone and the pier was a long way from anything. With me not feeling at my strongest as well and we still hadn't eaten anything yet, it was a really bad time for ...
Ban Phe, Thailand claramon... Fortunately, for 40 quid you can extend it for a whopping seven days! So tell me this: for a country whose economy is dependent on tourism, which is struggling because of the recent political upheaval, which dumbass introduced this rule!!? Add in the fact that a lot of locals (especially anyone who has anything to do with getting from A to B) are just out to rip you off at every possibility, Thailand is not a nice ...
Chaweng, Ko Samui, Thailand icarver... then I would suggest that you should choose one of these quiter beaches By the time we had walked back, we had a quick lunch and then planned what we would do for the next two days. Our options included boat rides, trips into the interior and of course swimming. I will tell you about activities you can do on the island in the final part of this series. My blog, more stories!! : http://www.thai-blogs.com/index.php?blo g=5
Koh Samet, Koh Samet, Thailand richardbarrow88... Thai system (he has a hospital card) and escorted us to the proper treatment room; no coloured stripes on the walls to follow on our own. As we followed the hostess, I am sure I saw angel wings on her back. Upon arriving at the "surgery' my son's vital signs were then taken, and the he was offered some lemonade and a sweet treat. Then, we met with a doctor and his nurse. They explained the treatment very clearly: "Master Yayier ...
Koh Samet, Thailand arewethere.yet... me .We saw the big Buddha, the lucky Buddha, which is only open to tourist once a year and it so happened that , that day was Sunday. The lucky Buddha is 750 years old. Many Thai people get married at the temple where the lucky Buddha is. We also saw the old temple and the golden mountain. Monday Katie left to Chaing Mai . She decided that she was going to try and work there cause she did not want to work in Bangkok. I was on my quest to find a job Dave said ...
Bangkok, Thailand stella762... we are doing further mapping work :) Then at the start of June Del will be goin to Mae Hong Son where a German vet will be volunteerin at the same time. I hope that I will be able to go too :) There are lots of bears both at Banglamun & Mae Hong Son, so I'm very excited!
