Good afternoon We are now heading in a south-westerly course through the South China Sea towards the Gulf of Thailand and next port stop is Koh Samui. The Captain advised us the Gulf is very shallow--average depth of 58m. The water is turquoise and seems to have small fishing fleets passing by now and again. It was low tide for us so we didn't enter but just seeing the beauty of these islands with their over hanging limestone ledges and canoeing under them was amazing. ... and the opportunity to throw darts and win a fluffy toy. We were intrigued by organic mushroom sellers, new houses for sale and how to grow vegetables in a recycled car tyre. There was not a single faring (foreigner) to be seen.

Now we are in the night market and enjoying a tasty outdoor dinner of pork and rice with two cans of Chang thrown into the mix for the exorbitant price of seventy rands!!!
