I went to donate blood in Canada for the first time. Prior to the donation I had pizza with Cara and her sister Sophie who had been visiting from Australia. It was a pure fluke, but the place we had pizza at had a 50% off deal on so we saved ourselves some money too.

... shoes, toys, and tools into a backpack??? This was probably not going to work. Kristen was able to draw from her previous travel experience whereas I had not taken a trip longer than 3 weeks. In the end with a few more pairs of pants and shirts than recommended, I was packed the day before in just over an hour! ... to La Guardia airport. Since it was an international flight we had to check in 90 minutes before and when we got into very slow traffic and the driver started asking what time our flight would be we got very worried. Thankfully we made it in time and checked in no problem.

Banff looks like a lovely town, has a Swiss feel about it and is surrounded by mountains. Would probably make this our base if we are ever lucky enough to return to the Canadian Rockies. Bus to Calgary set off on time as we had our last look at the Rockies and we got to the airport at 9:30 pm.
