Stay over in Sundby
we missed a ferry at Fehmarn, making Copenhagen a little too far. We decided the "city" of Nykobing would probably the best option. The first two we tried we either fully booked or closed (at 10pm). Luckily we found by change hotel Sam, which, despite its name and odd location, was actually pretty good.

I saw a most astounding thing by the little fishing harbour: log-cabin-style shelters that are part of a renewed interest in providing recreational facilities all over the country, for example walking tracks and cycling routes. Shelters are free to use and have nearby toilet facilities and water as well as an outdoor fireplace. They seem to be "the rage" and one family I have visited have built one at the back of their ...
