... with a famous and beautiful old town area. It was raining quite a lot and we only had one umbrella. Dad was ducking and diving under the awnings of the shops to try and keep dry. Out of nowhere, a lovely lady appeared and tried desperately to give dad her own umbrella. She was quite worried about him getting so wet. Such a kind gesture! Finally for our day, as we were headed back to our car, we spotted ...

... then I wanted to take Lane to another bar we used to go to called Johnny`s Bar. We found it and went up, but they were having a band in that night so it would have been a 2000円 ($20) cover so we decided to venture elsewhere. We wondered around for a bit ...

... we would try to find somewhere to either have a drink and another interesting site to see, but it was sooooo hot that we ended up just going for lunch and this Japanese burger/steak house. It was really good. The Japanese version of a burger is just the patty with no bun, which I actually liked better, the bread just fills you up.

The other bar, Hakkenden, which we used to go to was still open, which I was excited about. We went to the grocery store and I showed Lane all the food that we used to get as poor university students, most of it was instant ramen and such.
After that we walked back to the hotel and stopped ...

... festival. There was so much food and people. Lane had a chicken kabob, fried chicken and some noddles. He was too full even for the snow cones that they had there. There was a sort of opening ceremony, where they would carry these large lantern shrines down the street. When they got to an intersection, they would turn them in a fast circle and then lift them up and down, then continue on their way. After that we looked into some shops and then caught the shuttle bus back to our hotel.
