We took a short ferry ride (1 hour) from Paros to Naxos and we noticed right away that Naxos island has a totally different feel and pace from Paros. Naxos city (also called Chora) is the largest city on the island with 6,500 residents and has been inhabited since 1000 BC. ... Acropolis left after all these years, just a few rock walls, but the view of the bay and city of Naoussa was spectacular. We got up early the next day and packed our bags for the ferry ride to the next Greek island on our tour called Naxos. Paros was a good Greek Island to start our adventure, but it was hard to find something to do during the off season and poor weather days. We are looking forward to some more action in the larger island and city of Naxos.

We were picked up at 5:45 am after trudging with our suitcases to meet the bus several blocks away from our hotel. Traffic cooperated so we were first in line to board the fast ferry to Naxos. A different boat was substituted so our assigned seats were meaningless - told to sit anywhere. It is a four hour trip to Naxos, with intermediate stops at Tinos and Mykenos.
