Home to see my family

... My favorite national park was carlsbad cavrens. Water still drips today from rain that fell over 1 million years ago. I had fun and learned alot about all the places we have been. I met alot of nice people. We drove over 2300 miles and Papaw did most of that.

Virginia to Central Ohio

Today we departed Day's folks in Virginia and started our long trek back to Oregon.

We went north on I-81 and stopped at exit 323 at the Flying J to get re-fueled for the trip today. We then took a back country road winding back south a little bit until we get on US-522 headed north to turn west on I-68. We then jumped off at exit 14 onto US-40 west for a trip on the original and first U.S. national pike. Again this is a ...

From Kentucky

... a beautiful mix of spring woods and green green fields, jagged hills and narrow valleys. We stopped in the college town of Frostburg (where I posted the last blog from a little cafe that we stopped at for coffee and stayed for lunch.) At one point in WV we decided to shun-pike, but the state route we started up was SO windy and narrow (and we would have been on it for 30 miles) that we gave up and backtracked to the highway. So ...

April in Ohio

... table - later took a long shower and dressed in my good wide leg black slacks, a yellow shift and new black shirt jacket I had bought when Sharon and I shopped in AZ. Looked really sharp - I like it. After Charlie came home we headed out for dinner, planning on fish, but saw a Carrabbas and we have been planning to try one out, so stopped there for a very good meal and an comfortable atmosphere along with good service. April 4th-Charlie up early and headed for his breakfast ...

... to 76 in the afternoon. We went SE planning to go to the town of Georgetown where Charlies grandfather had lived. Charlie had stayed with him a bit when till he was about 12 and grandpa had died. We wanted to take a scenic route rather than the freeway so headed out using our Garmin Nuvi to guide us. Put in Georgetown and started following it and realized it was taking us in a wrong direction! Checking it found that it listed FOUR Georgetowns in Ohio and none of them right! It ...

oregon back to Ohio

... up to meet Ken and Joan and ride to Portland with them to a caching event-The Lemonade Social - in Milwaukie. We did a bit of caching on the way ending at the park where the event was taking place. I did about 1½ mile walk to get 9 caches in one of the games. Another was a list of cachers we had to find to complete a sheet of questions. The overcast morning finally gave way to hot and muggy for the remainder of day. There was way too much food, but we managed to at ...

Dress Up Time

The girls and I get a little bored backstage...alot...and sometimes we just act stupid. We decided to try to come up with the best outfit we can create using a yellow belt and whatever else we can find from our own costume peices. What do you think? Who won?

I'm glad I don't go to Muskingum College...

But John Glenn did....no offense but that name doesn't exactly sound prestigious. Muskingum College is located in New Concord, OH, which is Michael's next stop. They are hauling an empty trailer right now. Interestingly enough, they went through West Manchester on the way (we live in North Manchester).

Coldstone Creamery

Our store today was right next to a Coldstone Creamery so after work we took the boys over there for a special treat. They loved it so much! They thought it was so cool to watch their icecream be mixed right in front of them. The icecream was delicious too!
