... Navarette about 8km from Logrono. By 9 we were only on outskirts, through that big park area and the sun was setting. We were heading into countryside but it was really too late to walk further. A lovely Spanish lady out walking her dog rang a taxi for us. Arrived in hostel El Cantaro 9.30. Room crammed with 6 bunks. Smallest room on Camino so far. Not much sleep, people up and about all ...

With the excitement of landing some work in France for the next year it also means that we have had to cut our road trip short and miss travelling down the coast of Portugal. It's not all bad news though...none of it really is considering we will have so much more time now to explore the rest of Europe. Thanks again goes to the mechanic from Gijion because it now means we have the time to go back and explore places that ...

... so different to anything we have seen on this trip. On the other side of the city, lavish, well preserved murals with plant and geometric motifs are quite breathtaking in San Julian de los Prados. It was built between 797 and 842! The church is devoted to the Egyptian martyrs St's Julian and Basilisa, who were venerated in Visigoth Spain.

The cathedral San Salvador de Oviedo is also an imposing sight with a very flamboyant, dazzling guilded ...
