... I'd forgotten my buoyage system and was heading for the wrong side of it. Alarmed, and thinking I was about to risk running us aground, I threw the wheel over and turned us hard to squeeze between the gap between pontoon and buoy, only just skimming by it with our left bow, while he stared at me in bewilderment. My original course would have been fine, of course, but at least I know I can do some pretty tight manuoevring.

... Other campers came to see what we were doing, no one spoke English. But they marvelled at our 1km of strawberries we were eating. Who knew eating strawberries could be so messy. They got warm in the sun, and we weren't paying much attention....delicious! Still stuck in our cloths tho.
After dinner we went for a walk around the headlands and got back to the tent just in time. The thunder, lightning and rain are perfect to fall asleep to.

... the sun or eating. The white walls are all covered in climbing roses, the gardens were immaculate and large, the ocean is crystal clear and inviting (until you touch the 12 degree water), and the whole town feels happy.
We walked until we found a little cafe serving coffee.... Now was the time to try our words. We said what we thought meant "we would like two black coffees please, no milk", and out came two black coffees with no milk... Win! They were the smallest coffees ...

Santander is incredible. It appears to be the holiday destination and retirement town of very wealthy Spanish. We get strange looks when we offer our seats on the bus to the older people, or when we let people in front of us in lines. The culture here comes across as quite rude but the people are also lovely at the same time. We haven't found anyone who can speak English but one bus driver was incredibly ...
