    ... bien dans la cour de la Russie ici. Les Russes sont encore nombreux ici (11% de la population ) et mon hôte Alexis est Russe. Les gens sont à presque 80% musulmans. Il y a une petite communauté catholique de 1 500 personnes. En arrivant dans le pays, on sent tout-de-suite le calme, la sérénité de ce peuple des montagnes.     ... our Tajikistan visas were already pasted in waiting for the Ambassador’s stamp and signature. We pleaded, ‘Can we come by at 9 am?’ Sure we could come in, the officer said, but the Ambassador won’t be there to sign until 10:00. Guess the Ambassador has banker’s hours.     ... a taxi was not simple, "Tajikistan Embassy please" didn't ring a bell with the driver. The address didn't either but the guy pulled out a well worn city map book and, together with Google maps on Dave's cell, eventually he appeared to know where to go and off we went.

    In spite of the fact that there is not a lot of traffic on the road, say compared to Delhi or Shanghai, driving here is pretty hectic.
