As travel guru Rick Steves aptly describes; Milanese feel that Romans and others further south are lazy & sponge off the hard work of northern Italians. Conversely Romans think Milanese are uptight, work too hard & don't enjoy life enough.

... The station itself though was really quite a spectacular building. Most of the building in Milan were but as we walked around we realised the graffiti didn't end. There was graffiti even on the loveliest of buildings. Not what we expected from the fashion capital of the world! We had dinner at the train station.
