    ... the lovely pool before bed.

    TUESDAY: We had a fantastic day and really enjoyed our visit to Lake Como. It was definitely worth the drive and effort! What a truly beautiful place.

    We set out early at 8.30 in the hope to beat the heat and get a car park near the funicular railway that takes you up a very steep gradient to lovely views at the top. We had a nice time wandering around at the top and David was very taken with an old old hotel ...

    ... cooked right in front of our eyes and the chef let us take a picture to prove it. Emma had a really good looking pasta. We sat on one of the benches and ate our meals before getting really yummy iced wine smoothies (our version of Italian wine) which we drunk whilst playing cards.     ... Station! So frustrating!!!! Time and time again, these trains are killing us!! We took the Metro to Girrabaldi Station and found the other train office and there was no line and the woman was wonderful!!!! We are booked on a Monday morning train through Switzerland to Paris! The reservation cost $139 Euros but we get lunch on the train, reserved seats and hopefully, no hassles!! Left there and went back to our neighborhood, had dinner and crashed! Traveling is hard ...

    ... breaks hopefully my clothes will be safe. I packed both bottles well with clothing items.

    I made room in the pack by taking out some non-essential and non-fragile items, such as my micro-fiber towel, flip-flops, etc. I also travel with a Pocket Duffel, and I placed the the non-essential items inside that and lashed them to the outside of the pack using some long shoe laces that I bought at a Foot Locker near the Duomo earlier in ...
