Snorkelling and colourful fish in Tioman

We decided to go snorkeling the following morning of our arrival on Tioman. We rented a boat with Katie, who we met after getting off the ferry, for RM 70 each. Mario was our Captain. He took us first to Tulai island. It was amazing, the coral was absolutely beautiful. We have seen beautiful sites in Egypt, Australia, Mexico, Thailand and Colombia but these were totally different, amazing colours and very large coral. Then we went to a beach where the water was absolutely clear. It was transp...

The locals are great to such nice people, alway helpful never out for what they can get.

Our room was great really spacious and had it's own bathroom complete with a frog. Now this frog drove us mad as there was no way for it to get in to the bathroom. The drain was covered there was no windows or gaps for this frog ...

As with our Hotel room in Italy this place is bigger than our house, with private terrace and pool overlooking the sea... we didnt imagine leaving our room much over the next 5 days!
We didn't. Apart from meals on the jetty in the ocean. We also had a romantic 7 course private dinner on the beach with champagne (champers courtesy of Kelly and Luke ...

... the supposing “wild” island. Well, it’s beautiful but don’t think here are no turists there as there are plenty of them. The island is surrounded by a few villages where you can find cheap accommodation (~100 RM for a double room), more backpacker style but generally ok. There are a couple of resorts with rooms for fancier people that cost 3-4 time as the rooms in the villages. Really not recommended, the food is better there ...

Lazy days and Moonlit nights

... at the beach bar sat on reclining chairs with cold beers, snuggling bare feet into the sun warmed sand, stretching out toes to reach for the coolness just an inch below the surface. Travellers tales from new friends told as the sun changed from yellow, to orange to red, slowly immersing itself into the sea. The sky slowly slipped under the indigo blanket of the night and diamonds claimed their place under the watchful gaze of ...

... cove with the whitest sand possible, and again, picture-postcard green/blue clear water.
Lunch at Salang resort, and the realisation that we had made a good choice with Paya – Salang was dirty, far too touristy and obviously one of the places to be if you were young and/or wished some sort of night-life. Lunch with our new best-friends from Australia, ironically Perth, (and Sydney ...
