52/2 Rawai Beach Phuket, Thailand
... the previous night and after the rugby headed to Reggae Bar. Reggae bar is a very interesting place. It has a boxing ring in the middle and the tourists are invited to fight each other for yes, that’s right, a small bucket of alcohol! There is a referee to uphold the rules…not queensbury though, thai rules, so basically anything but eye gouging, head butting and blows to the groin are allowed. However, there is no "health and safety" people can fight drunk and ...
Phuket, Thailand mccoyryan... he and Jasmin are off to Phuket tomorrow afternoon for a few days. We walked back to the room passing some of the Gypsy's asleep on their mats on the beach and some others in their boats in hammocks this is the live for me perfect.
Day 12
Up and off to Breakfast at 7:30 just as well we are exercising fresh juice, fresh fruit yogurt and baked beans on toast and coffee and danishes and a small fresh jam donut. Back down to the trees full as fools to read and drift off to ...
... a short distance away. We didn't see the monkeys but here's a great photo of what we missed! Poor Victor had rented out snorkelling gear & didn't see too much. I waded out with a banana & I didn't have to hunt around for the fish, the fish all came to see me (fish seem to love banana). Victor was gob-smacked (English term). Next time I would love to visit some of the quieter islands. After all, this was an impromptu whirlwind trip to Thailand.
Ko Phi Phi, Thailand julimanu... from), which involved 10 hours in a minivan getting there and back. fun! Eventually moved out of my Chiang Mai comfort zone and got the bus to Pai, leaving the boys behind (waiting for Oskars credit card replacement). Pai is a little hippy-turned-trendy-traveller town north of Thailand. It is in a very scenic valley position and really quite a traveller hotspot! It was nice enough, but not as much as people had hyped it up to be. A bit boring after a day or two! I ...
Phuket, Thailand nats78Well we just had to write again today as we have had such a cool day. This morning we got up early and decided that we'd had so much fun yesterday with the sea kayaks that we would rent some again. So we headed down to the beach at about 9 o'clock and jumped in our kayak and basically we rowed out of our bay - made easier by the tide going out with us. We decided to head for Monkey Beach ...
Koh Phi Phi, Thailand jimandnat... it, it was your job to flag them down. We were in the middle seats of the airplane, so we only saw bits and pieces of the land as we flew by. Once we arrived in Phuket and collected the backpacks, we boarded a shuttle to take us to the hotel. On the way to the hotel, we stopped at a tourist center and made ...
Chiang Mai, Thailand enjyn... yesterday and bought this really lovely dress.
At first we thought of going to the other beaches but since Patong has ...
... very cautious after having a bug. The next morning we still had a few rain showers but it cleared pretty quickly and we headed off, this time up the mountain to see the Big Buddha that they have been building. It was quiet a steep mountain and the two fatties (gill and Drew's) bike was going at walking pace and the others were taking the lead. The view from up the top was amazing and the building of the Budda was pretty awesome. We all purchased ...
Phuket, Thailand czardas... naughty bars and internet cafes. That night we scratched our curry itch and found an awesome Indian restaurant with possibly the politest waiter we had ever met and scoffed a gorgeous dinner down. Nice as it is, Ao Nang is pretty much a family place for people with money so I think we'll be off again tomorrow - continuing on our search for somewhere cheap, cheerful and fairly quiet............
