From the pier a 1 hour "fast ferry" to our next stop moving south, the island of Koh Pha-Ngan. Found a great resort from the people at the pier and took a taxi to "Salad Beach Resort" at Haad Salad cove.

Samantha - We had planned to stay at a bungalow resort that we had heard of, but it turned out to be a building site, so I looked down a the collection of leaflets that had been thrust into my hand at the ferry terminal and randomly picked a resort to stay at. After the shoddy accommodation we ended up in in Ko Tao, we decided when we were on the boat we were gonna try to get something really nice on Ko Phangan even if it meant spending twice our usual amount. ... must surely restrict developments. All the roads are full of potholes and cracks that make 4WD almost a requirement. The area around the main pier is unfinished mud with huge lumps and bumps (heaven knows what it is like during the monsoon season, presumably nobody even attempts to get there).
