A peaceful night

The day started with blue skies and sunshine but quickly decimated by sea mist, quickly followed by rain which stayed with us the whole day and night.

We couldn't leave Sweden without visiting Ikea. They only have 18 stores in Sweden and we happened to come across one of them just in time for lunch. We joined hundreds of Swedish just doing that. The menu is the same as UK but cheaper and more fun to order ...

... have more space for boots and bulky warm clothing. Pupils go out to play in all weathers, unlike in the UK. School lunches are of the serve yourself and help yourself variety with a good choice of hot lunches and salad and vegetables. There is no dessert with the lunch.

... then went to a cafe in town to have our afternoon fika, a Swedish word to describe taking a break to have a coffee and snack. We tried one of the traditional Swedish snack of a "chocolate ball" which is exactly as it sounds, a ball of chocolate rolled in coconut.

We had a relaxing night to prepare for our next day in Stockholm, made dinner in her residence, hung out with some of her friends and got a tour of inside her university.

... coffee, as they just did to much (by accident). And ofc Karen had the best Baguettes in the city, okey maybe after Kale Pa Spangen. This was a place, runned by turkish man, it had a great discount for students and awesome cakes! After hiking's during freezing winter we used to go there and just chat. Loved that, totally!

... and had the miners pull him into a shaft pretty quickly. He signed his name on the wall and then went back up to the sunshine where he felt safe. Not long after this incident it became law in Sweden that it was illegal for the King of Sweden to go down a mine shaft in a bucket. This law made it impossible for his son Gustav to go as far down the mine on his visit, because you can only go down to a certain point by stairs and then the rest by bucket, so ...
