Sakura Naples

Nous avons pris l'autobus publique pour atteindre le sommet du vesus, le volcan n'a pas tellement a offrir, mais la vue sur la bay est vraiment belle. Ensuite, nous avons visités les ruines d'Herculaneom. Une autre ville disparue sous l'eruption du vesus il y a pres de 2000 ans. il y a encore beaucoup de travail d'archeologie en cours, mais on peut voir que la ville est meiux conserver, il y a meme des batiments de 2 et 3 etages et des pieces de bois qui ont traversé le temps !

I am so far behind with this blog. Partly, it's because we have traveled every single month during 2009. There's so much to tell & show that unless I write every week, I'm always several trips behind. The other problem is ...

Ola Kala: simply, OK (in Greek). No time for lots of flap.....we're on the go. The Vatican Museums await us (and we can hardly wait to do more walking!). Enjoy the pictures and we'll fill you in on the adventure next time I make the time to sit and gab.

Sunday caught the train out to Pompei which was ginormous!
I think we only saw ...

... so far.
Naples is not a nice city, but it's a cool city. Venice, Florence, Verona are all nice, but once you've seen the sights, there isn't much else to them.

Walking around the Spaccanapoli district saw some really cool stalls and shops - some that looked like they had been there for ages and not changed much at all. Old school book stores with books piled high and seemingly without any order or system, a stretch on San Sebastiano that ...

... early morning trip to Rome so I can discover some open air markets in the piazzas of Rome. Think piles of flowers, food, fruit, and such terrific things. What a start to the day...
That's all for now, and I think this extra-long blog almost makes up for the lack of updates in the past two or three weeks that I've been here.

... I will spend the first few days in Madrid with my friend Laura. Then I will head to Paris for a few days where I can meet up with a bunch of friends I have met here and also another friend from Fordham. Then I will go to York for one night with Anthony to visit Andrew Ketchum and then we will all go to London for the end of my spring break. It will be really busy, but great since I can see so many friends from home.

... water was so clear and a beautiful tourqoise, navy color...unlike anything I had seen in the carribeans or Mexico. I could see the rocks at the bottom, as well as the giant bolders that closed in the swimming area. There was a huge deck with chairs, tables and beds. I focused my attention on one old lady who was swimming all alone. She made slow, steady movements with her arms and legs, and just seemed to glide so gracefully in the still water.
