... normaal hotel. Een soort losse, vrijstaande koepeltjes als kamer. Ach, een keer wat anders, dat leek ons wel wat. Nou, anders was het! Kijk maar op de foto's hoe anders: het bleek een waar Japans familiehotel waar wij een tikkeltje misplaatst waren. Oftewel: we waren de enige niet Japanners. Maar eerlijk is eerlijk: ze hadden er een fantastische onsen, sauna, zwembad alles erbij en erop en eraan en bovendien een geweldige speel-/fitness tuin voor Mats. En aangezien ...

Ishigaki ("Downtown" wie sie es hier nennen) ist eine faszinierende Mischung aus Markt, coolen Bars und Restaurants aller Gattung. Sogar an einer Flamencoschule sind wir vorbeigekommen; leider konnten wir die japanischen Señores und Señoritas nicht sehen, aber das Absatzstakkato tönte jedenfalls authentisch!
Für den ersten Znacht haben wir dann einmal mehr einen Volltreffer gelandet: Ein lokales Restaurant mit Gewusel von Familien, Gruppen ...

day broke and i was anxious to checkout so i exited the room early. had to knock on the dining room door (and disturb the owner feeding her kids) but managed to pay. nervous about the shuttle, i tried ask if it was going to pick me up. after some lookups in the translator it was portrayed that i had gotten it wrong and it was up to me to get there by myself. no problem though, she yelled at someone to look after the kids and drove me in the van.

Messing with hermits
... walk on the beach as it was flat and "easy". the beaches on Iriomote are beautiful but the flotsam thats washed onto them is disgusting. covered with hundreds upon hundreds of plastic bottles and other such garbage that people had just chucked into the sea. couldn't believe that such a well known tourist island (for the Japanese) was that dirty and nobody was bothering to clean it up. ignoring the garbage, i started to harass the hermit crabs. i had no ...

... selv om Martin vist gerne ville have set lidt hajer eller rokker. Vi så dog en enkelt stor havslange, som gav mig lidt nerver på, men den var heldigvis til at svømme udenom, og jeg mødte den kun én gang.
