... position and work their way up through the ranks...or not....depending on their ambitions. Before I go further, let it be said that in all fairness even the position of split girl is not to be taken lightly. There is a lot more that goes on during performance than meets the eye of the audience. A trapeze team is exactly that, a team. A successful and engaging performance requires the full participation of all the members, not just the lead flyers. Also, many ...

Once we got through the first 10 days, our schedule became quite easy, with one show and practice on weekdays, and three shows each weekend day. This left me with plenty of time to explore. As I mentioned before, the area to the north of Ota is mountainous. This has made for some very beautiful (and also challenging) rides. ...

Well, I've been away for a while, so it's time to get back on the blog. It's been a busy time with Ann, then Shylo and Rhonda visiting, teaching, and getting ready for two more guests coming soon. This week is my "quieter" time, but I find that it is filling up quickly with many other commitments. For instance, yesterday, I gave a guest lecture in a friend's class who teaches on family psychology. I talked about the gendered division of labor in the US paid and home ...
