          On Thursday morning 6th Nov, I took a boat trip to Alcatraz and found it to be a fascinating tour. Highly recommended - a San Francisco 'must do', but to do the place justice a good 4 - 5 hours is needed, so you should plan to have a hearty early brunch, be on the 11:00am ferry and expect to catch one of the last ferries off the island between 4:00 & 5:00pm.
