Eftersom vårt tidigare hotell i Manaus lämnade mycket i övrigt att önska, var förväntningarna inte alltför höga. Men vi blev även överraskade den här gången. Fast åt andra hållet. Det var en gigantisk tvårumslägenhet på 11:e våningen, med alla bekvämligheter man kunde önska sig.

... Gebaeude, Kirchen und Villen der „Kautschukbarone“. Weiterhin findet man Parks, mit vielen Schattenspenenden Baeumen und Brunnen. Diese „schoenen“ Dinge findet man allerdings fast nur im Zentum und der Rest – der Grossteil, ist ziemlich haeslich mit vielen unfertigen Haeusern, Geschaeften und viel Verkehr.
