    ... didn't appear to be getting anywhere near to anything we remembered. My only hope was that the signs kept saying Gare Sud and I knew we had come out at the north entrance when we arrived. But the bubble of panic was there as we were not sure if it was going to be a completely different train station. Luckily, it wasn't and we made it to the station well within time for the train!

    ... for cats and dogs - I think they catered for small dogs rather than dogs like Gabbie. I did see a few larger dogs - a Dalmatian, staffy and a few border collie types, but most are very very small. I noticed that most males carry man bags. Mainly black small oblong vinyl types. A delicatessen had a huge range of tinned sardines as well as chocolates. Spirits etc. Food really is a big thing here. A lot of the lunch menus offer 3 course meals. Dessert ...

    ... and it went around so much faster. There was a constant steam of people buying their produce - and quite a few on bikes - even in line with their bikes. I returned to the hotel with raspberries and blackberries. These were perfect as I had only snacked on nuts for lunch. Ice cream would make them even better. OMG - the hotel receptionist recommended a place to eat and I did think the menu looked ok until I say duck gizzard and goat dung - I went next door and had vegetarian ...

    ... lunch we visited the museum of etangs and, whilst we had a very enthusiastic guide who took the group to the lake and back inside explained all the wildlife and history, it was all in fast-spoken French so hard to catch even the odd word or phrase and we subtly slipped sway from the tour after 40 mins or so.
    A final swim in the pool and re-match of volleyball (joined by a rust-coloured toad who fancied a dip) before packing and eating up the fridge again!
