... actually you're right. Despite a mass of visiting walking tourists, nothing in Saint-Larry Soulan was open. Apparently this was their time to close prior to the winter rush. The best meal we could rustle up was a pizza. Who eats pizza in France? Our Irish B&B friends, who stayed here for a week, ended up popping over to Spain for a hearty meal. Packing filled the evening and then the movie 'Ghost Writer' on TV. We drive up to the Dordogne district ...

I was right to be sceptical. The borne was gone and although you could park, to get the fresh water and clean the loo cassette, you had to go to the next village. Here the facilities were primitive and ...

As we approach the last week of guests (well maybe, cos there are still enquiries coming in for next week!), I am exhausted. Our week on the boat where all we did was sleep, read and walk the dog seems a distant memory undone on our return by the less than careful self-catering Parisien Arabs. Let's call them the new Russians in the way they have money but no respect for other people’s property and lifestyle. I had a feeling that we ...
