... on open wood fires on tables with a metal plate on top for the cooking surface.
I have got quite brae and have stopped at couple without ill effect. It's always an experience struggling for understanding. Wish I'd worked harder at Spanish!
After Sta Dom Tehpec I headed for Juchitan de Zaragoza. At he fuel stop I bought some oil and now need to find somewhere to do the service.
I pulled up outside a ...

Zanatepec, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico kunzandwanner... trip !!! hot water was an occassional luxury as was furniture other than a very soft bed, we both ended up in the middle......BUT HEY.......this is what travelling is all about....isn't it ? people were friendly, the markets were colourful and the food interesting !! but cheap. We did enjoy a few beers though. We went to see Uxmal ruins which we didn't think could surpass Chichen Itza......but they did as it in a jungle setting with 75 ...
San cristobal de la casas, Mexico mills01480... If you pay this much attention to anything you soon see a pattern emerging. They are extremely difficult to see if they are not marked. I soon realized that they are often camouflaged by the Topas Joker! They are always in the shade! Thinking way too much about the Topas, you discover that the reason they are in the shade has a direct correlation to the folks who have to hand build them in the heat of the day!
Arriaga, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico jdswedOn to Puerto Arista, a relative metropolis, plenty of shops, some of them even open! Out of high season seaside towns tend to only fully open at weekends when the city dwelling Mexican hordes descend. Found a nice little place near a smelly lagoon and not far from the beach, but sadly, as often happens in Mexico, the workers started banging around at 6am - because it´s really hot later, they start work early but with no concern for their sleeping clients.
Puerto Arista, Chiapas, Mexico ccchrissieJust a stop over in this small town, where a Saturday night is spent drinking until falling asleep in the streets. It was quite funny arriving there so late, everyone just coming to us so drunk and talking to us and then after one hour seeing them sleeping outside. This time has not much apart from good hot dogs, we went to eat them at a stand where they were showing a Mexican boxing game, and i had to stasy the whole 11 rounds and cheer up with the locals...
Arriaga, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico luciecoxHi to you all, I think it was Saturday the 1st of March we left San Christobal for an orhanage called the Hogar Infantil, a short trip to Ocozocoautla, if you can get your mouth around that one let me know? We stopped at Chiapa de Corzo on the way and toured the spectacular Sumidero Canyon by boat for over 2 hours. 800 meter walls at it's highest point with water 160 meters at it's deepest we were told, a couple of unusual formations on the ...
Puerto Arista, Mexico mcgregors5... Often it is difficult for me to understand the contradtictory truths that at many levels we are all creating our own realities, and yet simultaneously some people obviously start out with so much more. Speaking of some people having so much more, I have decided to hang out in Chiapas awhile longer in order to join up again with Pastors for Peace, who are bringing 10 tons of solidarity aid donated from various communities in the US ...
Isla de Boca del Cielo, Mexico lapuravida... to make a long story short we met Kai at a cafe lining the Place de la Liberte in Pointe-a-Pitre on a sunny Wednesday morning. The place has a market with live lobster for 1/2 the price of the restaurants and a wide selection of fruits and vegetables. Streaming from the square are alleys of local and global shops which is great for strolling. Previous research on the city indicated that it was dreary but we loved the charm and diversity of the ...
