So rushing it a bit I left the house and went 2 days to Les Saintes, 2 cute small islands south Guadeloupe. Sleeping in expensive bed and breakfast wasn't an option so I put my hammock wherever I could hide because free camping is not allowed (yeah it's free so...). I slept in the cliff of the south of the island the first night, facing the sea, sharing the place with wild goats. Back to the main island after this very nice unexpected festival detour (things are always better when unexpected right?). This had a bit of deja vu feeling, living the French expat life as I did in French Guyana. Same same but Caribbean island style. Lots of Rhum and traditional music & dance everywhere, islands people drink, string stuff, and they start early. Exceptionally for the festival people ...

... to silhouette different features which were great as we passed along the length of the island. The winds were moderate and side on, so we were making good time and the journey felt more rough than the entire ocean crossing again, it is hard to imagine how calm the sea was for such a long time. Fresh air, clear starry sky and constant monitoring to ensure a safe distance from the island made this night sail quite exciting! ...

... were with one other person. But because the bus took such a long time to come we had a little look around the local area, with one eye on the bus stop. Little did we know but the one parked van obscuring our view was hiding several people. When the minivan turned up, these people jumped on straight away and took all the places! Local knowledge prevailed and frustrated us. It was later on that we learnt the main ...
