Iguazu Falls (Argentina and Brazil)

So it was that we decided at the last minute to visit the Iguazu Falls, which were, by all accounts, unmissable. At the same time that we booked the tickets for the World Cup qualifier between Argentina and Uraguay, we went ahead and booked a package tour to the Falls, which included an 16hr overnight, return bus trip together with a hotel for 2 nights and guided tours to both the Argentinian and Brazilian sides of the national park. Again, our bus ride to the falls was excellent and made mor...

BA and Iguazu Falls

Friday was spent primarily walking around downtown BA. First we went to a mall that Lonely Planet told us to go to and it turned out to be highly overrated. It was basically just Valley Fair nice ceilings. After that we decided that we needed to figure out a way to get over to Mendoza since Lisa needs to have her Malbec! Unlike the US, busses seem to be the primary mode of transporation around Argentina. We got to a beautiful bus station and worked again with a travel agent to see about packa...

Iguazu Falls & The Day of Sitting

Sorry it´s been so long since our last entry. We´ve had some technical difficulties with our hotels and their internet speeds.Right now we´re STILL having issues with getting pictures up but hopefully we´ll have that up and running again soon... Anyways, we spent the whole day at Iguazu Falls and it was absolutely spectacular!! The falls were amazing. there was a train that took us to the ¨devil´s throat¨ falls. There were also all sorts of trails to walk around the park and see the different...

Iguassu Waterfalls

It was a long four-hour flight to Buenos Aires, then change, then an additional hour and a half to get to Puerto Iguazu. From the bottom of the world, we made it to the Subtropics. And boy, was it subtropical! It was 35 degrees, sunny and humid when we got out of the last plane. After having had snow just the day before, our bodies didn't know how to react to heat; we had to walk very slowly and breathe in carefully. The landscape was luxuriant, dense jungle, the earth was bright red, and Pue...

Jungle fever - (getting down in the iguassu falls)

Friday we flew from Buenos Aires to Port Iguazu. we stayed in Saint George hotel (4 star hotel, large comfortable room, bad pool, food's al right = 80US$). Nadav was especially worried of mosquitoes bites and developing Malaria or Yellow Fever. but evidently we survived ! the area around the Iguazu falls is hot and humid, and very green and jungle like (the first time for me) - i loved it ! the day after we went to see the Iguzu falls just from the Argentinian side. we spent half a day over t...

Back to BA

Yesterday we spent the day at the waterfalls...we had seen on the news that they were dried up, but they still had plenty of water to make them enjoyable. It was incredibly humid though. Painfully humid. So after waking around in "el jungle", we bought some swimming suits and jumped n the pool at the hotel. Since they use natural heat to warm the pool, it was still pretty chilly. The hot tub felt more like a pool should feel, but had a strange green color, so we may come home with some strang...

Iguacu Falls - The Brazilian And The Argentinian

... around us and once or twice almost bumped into us.<br>The day after, we crossed the border to the Argentinian side and walked on bridges one meter above the center of the falls, feeling the immense power of the water flow.<br>Today, we take 2 flights in order to get to Manaus in the Amazon.

From Jaegers to stolen passports...!!!

... So freaking annoying, and obviously quite upsetting. However, we´re lucky, we don´t leave Argentina until Thursday, and are back in Buenos Aires to Tuesday, so should give us enough time to get to the embassies and sort them out. Little *****, would love to know when it happened, they´ve been on me the whole time, we can only assume it was while we were out on Friday night. **** happens, we just didn´t expect it to happen quite so early ...

The magnificence of Iguaçu and farewell Brazil!

... shrieking messes...and this is grown men we are talking about''<br><br>We first got to see it from the Brazillian side - known for stunning panoramic views over all the falls from various vantage points. We were also so lucky with the weather and saw full rainbows in the clouds of spray thrown up from the thundering falls. We were already impressed but were not prepared for what we would encounter the next day from the ...

Iguazu Falls from the Brazilian Side

... from the falls even from that far away. Next thing though the spray started getting heavier but it was actually rain so we ran fr shelter. There is an viewpoint reached by elevator on that side so we went up that to get a higher view. It was torrential rain now so we went for a bite to eat. There was a lovely restaurant up there with great views of the falls and it was inside and we were cold so we sat down but when we were told it cost the ...
