Chemin de Roumanieu Saint Cyr sur mer, Provence, France, 83270
Really beautiful train ride along the coast (which in a way it is a shame that the railway is right on the beach) Marseille is a bigger city and not so quaint but the port area is nice. Flew out of Marseille to Lisbon. I know not quite geographically logicall
Marseille, Provence, France pathenger... enticing, so I join him.
Daniel is a biologist studying stress. He looks to be in his late 50s. He has a neatly trimmed mustache, a clean apartment with a stunning view of the city, and a dog the size of a small bear. He offers me some Calvados which I'm happy to accept. We watch TV, and chat for a bit. I take a shower, and then I'm on my way.
"When do you sleep normally?" I ask as I leave
"I don't know" he shrugs
What a bizarre encounter.
... looked quite poor, as did a lot of Marseille, and was very dirty, the bad weather not helping the atmosphere. We did get to see one pretty spectacular place, the Notre Dame on top of the hill overlooking the port. We took the tourist train up there (can tick that one off our list), and saw the richer areas of the town on the way up. The views were fantastic and the cathedral amazing, with a crypt below. All very colourful and lots of artwork based around the port and ...
Aix-en-Provence, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France cft89We have at long last arrived in France! We ended up scrapping the visit to Marseille, both since travellers we've met said its not worth the visit, and since we heard it's not really the place to be wandering around the streets at 10 at night looking for a place to stay. So instead we caught the bus up to Aix-en-Provence, which is pretty much the cutest town on the entire planet. We're pretty sure we were the only people ...

Even I fluxuate in my thought about what’s goin on. Most importantly, I live day to day and try to plan out what’s needed for the immediate future (i.e. food and shelter). Some days I;m on top of the world. I feel healthy and strong, and I’m exactly where I want to be. Other days…well today was a day I felt like a ...
... year.
Pour conclure, as I feel that this 'essay' will do for now, I've really noticed the French love for dogs...there are more fat dogs here than there are fat people, and they take them everywhere, even into shops and supermarkets. Hygenic?
So, all in all, the first 6 weeks have been awesome. This week I got a pretty bad case of the homesickness and generally feeling a bit low, I forget that for the first time in my life I'm actually living on my own ...
Bonjour avec Aix-en-Provence Cherie
Since the last news we have visited the Cote D'Azur spending time at Monte Carlo and Antibes. We stayed near Antibes at a place called Biot and at night you could hear the seals at nearby Marineland - very strange. It was still quite hot and stickey with more mozzies. Monte Carlo was wall to wall money with billions of dollars in boats and cars. Antibes was similar but it had a lovely old town as well.
We arrived ...
... s the moral of the story, right? So I log on and start catching up on days of e-mail, surfage, hotel reservations, flight reservations, MySpace, FaceBook… ooohhh, God it’s warm in here, nice and cozy. I’m in, Trinity, so what do I do now?
Actually it’s nice and warm all over the south of France, while Paris and environs have already entered the autumn. And so the days pass as ...
... And now we are in Cagnes-sur-Mer about 20 miles from Nice, catching up with laundry and making the most of the hot showers (well luke warm!) after 4 days without one (we are both smelling worse than Alfie!). Then we'll be crossing the border into Italy, which is about 40 miles away heading towards Lake Garda. Bye for now, lots of love to everyone back home - we are still missing you all!
Cagnes Sur Mer, France signsoflife... train and not change- there's not a conductor in sight! The change in weather has been remarkable- if/when I get to Aix I'll be about half an hour from the Southern shore of France, the French Riviera. Sun is already blazing in through the windows making my arm and computer hot. Not a cloud in the brilliant blue sky and the landscape is actually somewhat rocky and a deeper dark red-brown where the earth has been tilled.. In less than three hours I've gone more than 2/3rds ...
