... the two of them, I then discovered what it was - a huge cockroach about four inches long (not including antennae) had landed on my back and begun scuttling about; apparently it was incredibly close to my arm when Jen's dad swiped it off. After this we switched tables but we were all getting psychological itches from the experience, so after we finished our beers, and as it was getting late anyway, I said goodbye and headed back to my hotel. I watched a terribly bad film on TV then went to bed.
Inside there were many photographs of the war and some quite horific.
To the credit of the Vietnamese they tried to make the theme of the museum of one to promote peace and antiwar, rather than knock the Americans although they did overlook some of the attrocities they committed against each other.
Both of us found the whole experience of this very moving.

Tomorrow we are on our way to Hong Kong.

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam carolgreg... tour in the Mekong Delta. It was a little bit too much for tourists (coconut candy, paper rice fabrication, etc...) but at the end of the day we were only 8 to spend the night in a homestay. We could finally feel the spirit from the Mekong Delta. After a well deserved beer we cooked with the local people, eat everything and spent a wonderful night with a good friend: his name is banana alcohol (ouch !).
The day after we went to the floating ...

Cong built their base, which consisted of about 200km of underground tunnels and rooms.
The tunnels were tiny ... only one of our group was game enough (and small enough) to fit into the tiny opening of one of the tunnels.
They have now widened the tunnels for the tourists and there is a 100m section which you can crawl through.
I took the exit at 40metres as it was so damn hot down there ... but Cam and some of the others made it the ...
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam chopper_and_kat... didn't have jobs lined up yet they only took two weeks time to explore Asia. I have yet to meet a single other person who is only in Asia for two weeks, even if they live just a short flight away in Australia. Anyway, I hit it off immediately with the girls and spent the entire day getting to know them and I seems like the shortest trips I hear about are from Americans. The first segment of the tour was a trip to a bee farm, where we were able to dip our finger in a honeycomb ...

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam heledd... very hot, dark and tiny, even though they had been raised a foot or so to accommodate tourist, and very difficult to climb through. They had air ventilations every 15m or so, but these were very cleverly disguised as termite mounds, so not to give away the location of the tunnel below. When they cooked in the kitchens they let the smoke from the fire filter into a system of about 5 different chambers, so that when it eventually escaped into the air, the location of the smoke was a ...
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam damosarah... stroking the over hang of my belt in a very sexual way (and by over hang of my belt I actually mean the over hang from my belt, nothing else). I pushed him away and walked off back to the others. I then proceeded to tell Andy the events which had just occurred. He asked me if it was a man wearing all white with longish hair! Shocked, I asked him how he knew what he looked like. It turned out he was stood across the room starring at me! Andy couldn't stop laughing, and then man ...
