... some beers with them a couple of the last nights. Tomorrow we have a ticket to get onto the boat and head back to Chumphon and then to Bangkok. We wanted to spend more time on the island and as little time as possible in Bangkok, but the weather report is saying that there is a pretty big storm coming our way and we didn't want to get stuck here and miss our flight. All in all, we really enjoyed Koh Tao and look forward to visiting the island again in the future.
Koh Tao, Phetchaburi, Thailand joshandtara... bones and a nasty rash. While she dozed I snuck off to the nearest internet café to look at the symptoms of Swine flu, as I read wiki I relaxed comfortable in the knowledge that one of the symptoms is vomiting which thankfully she didn't have. When I got back to the bungalow, Caroline helpfully informed me she’d just thrown up! Whilst trying my best not to do a Corporal Jones impression ("Don't Panic!") we swiftly left to visit the nearby clinic.
<br ...
Ko Tao, Thailand caroline_little... Funnily enough I met the German girls, our next door neighbour from Tara Inn in Ko Phi Phi, they were trying to find their friend who had dissapeared. I decided to help look for her and Liz and me went around together looking for her, eventually we met up and found her, she was helping someone who was a bit too drunk. We then got a taxi back as I was finished with the Half Moon Party, it wasn't bad but if I come back I will check out the Full Moon party instead.
Koh Tao, Thailand leehorscraft... based on appearance, but the food tells the story straight away.

On this road 'Nid's Kitchen' is new, but has quickly developed a reputation for having very good and authentic Thai food. It also has fresh homemade burgers for that western fix, and they're not puny, wimpy burgers either. It is delicious and very reasonably priced. Right beside that there is a duck soup place that is also divine, and new as well. Both places are remarkably cheap and give good portions and value for the ...
Koh Tao, Thailand tropichound... Just outside the hotel is a guy with a little pancake stand and every time we pass he’s there claiming they are the best pancakes in the world. Plenty of people walking away with the pancakes and Gabe asked if I wanted one. I said no and we hadn’t walked more then twenty feet when he stopped and asked if I’d have a few bites if he got one.

Of course I knew his ploy, but it felt like less pressure to love it or finish it ...
Koh Tao, Thailand claraz8... was quite scary to find out.

Having giving you a taste of our time on the island, its now best to give you some of the highlights. Please remember Island life is a lot slower than on the mainland, just a swim in a pool and a walk along the beach can be considered as a milestone!! :)

Monday 28th September

We invested in a bat and ball and decided to set ourselves a volley record which we could try and better over the next 2 months ...
Ko Tao, Thailand emmaandpaulAs any good Catholic would tell you, it's no mean feat reaching Paradise. Well, twelve hours after leaving Bangkok, a very sweaty backpacker, cursing the weight of her bag once again after hauling it on and off a taxi, a train, a bus, a boat and yet another taxi, arrived there.

As I reached my beach resort on Koh Tao at 10 in the morning I had to wait a few hours until my bungalow was ready, but, plonking myself on the white sand and staring out into ...
Ko Tao, Thailand chloeb... of the only accommodation actually on the islands via a flyer we picked up in BKK and we decided that we would go there and stay for a few days. All was fairly easily arranged by a series of emails and a bargain struck that gave us reduced rate accommodation provided we went diving enough. Although we realised that we would be largely ‘stuck’ on the island (the only access is by boat) somehow this didn’t seem too much of an imposition!
The journey down from ...
Koh Tao, Thailand jenandtony... on the beach and the like. By night we have a bit of dinner in a bar or restaurant that overlooks the beaches that dot shore where we are staying. So we are having a pretty relaxing time, and i am possibly the most relaxed i have ever been! Right i said it would be a short update and it is. So until next time. xx
Ko Tao, Thailand sitwedKho Tao, 28-01-2009. For a moment I believe my eyes are alive with neon light, for a moment I see a gold colored light beaming off an endless and interminable row of Buddhas whose crazy but divine smiles grin at me in a mystic way, trying to tell me something.....? Did he know my dream, being back on that motorbike taxi deftly avoiding elefants in the hectic traffic of Bangkok`s China Town with its countless chinese owned ...
