After a long semi-overnight bus ride, having to sleep on a picnic table on the pier from 4:30-7am where our ferry picked us up and 2.5 hrs of bobbing along in the boat I awoke to my first views of Koh Tao aka paradise. This was my first thai island stop and not even 10 minutes off the pier I was pretty excited to not only slow down into the island life, but more so that I was about to check in to my dive resort. After getting my yoga certification getting PADI scuba certified ...

... a nice coral wall to explore with moray eels, nudi branch, shrimps and of course the damsel, butterfly and angel fish. We were back on the dry for 12pm, after cleaning the kit we met in the bar and filled out the log books. The sun set over the water and it was as if we were in the lion king, it was so orange and red, really pretty to see! We then went for dinner to a lovely Italian restaurant to get away from eating ...

... booked our onward travel to Bangkok for us and ran a shuttle bus down to the jetty every morning for people who were leaving or just wanted to explore the village. So before we knew it we were packing our bags (making sure no cockroaches had climbed in) settling up our bill-eek and packed into the pick up truck 'shuttle bus' arriving at the jetty in time to start our long journey, on apparently the hottest day of the year in Thailand, to Bangkok- the city that never sleeps, oh help! ...

... two teams fighting for top spot so close to the end of the season, we ended up joining two couples for a celebratory drink when Liverpool won. After the first round of jäger bombs, we realised it might not be an early night, but we embraced the spirit of Songkran and island life and enjoyed a dance on the beach. It turned into a much later and more drunken night making the morning boat/bus trip up to Bangkok a very long ...
