Arrived at Douz, the gateway to the Sahara at just after 4pm. Dressed in traditional clothing out of necessity, the heat is tremendous, never felt anything like it. Words cannot describe the experience, especially when the sand started to whip around us. The Sahara sand is incredibly soft and fine, feels just like powder. The Desert was very disorientating.

Hi Everyone! So yesterday was my birthday (thanks for the emails and ecards) and what a birthday it was! We hired a taxi van and driver to take us around the south of Tunisia.
