... tureckou hymnu společně s rozpohybovanım Atatürkovım portétem do tří snímků.
... ngy for dınner at a nearby cafe. When ıt was served to me I realızed ıt wasnt properly cooked, but ıt tasted great and I was famıshed anyway. So I went ahead and gobbled ıt up. I had no problems afterwards though. Bought a hundred grams of pıstachıos (my fırst experıence of buyıng somethıng usıng turkısh) and went to bed.

... us to the front door of the hotel. We have many of such small examples of nice people we meet on our trip.
The best is that we have a room overlooking the harbour of Trabzon. Here are the ferryboats arriving or leaving to Sotchi in Russia for example. 300 m behind the hotel is the city center and we enjoy the busy and very different life of this town. The harbour is influencing a lot and the city is probably the most international place in Anatolia.
Our arrival in the city of Trabzon officially put us on the home stretch of our journey around Turkey. We passed through the northern part of the Kackar Mountains and began heading west along the coastal road paralleling the Black Sea coast. This is tea country in Turkey and no doubt they need to produce plenty of it to keep up with national consumption. Miles and miles of tea plantations climbed the hills ...
Trabzon, Turkish Black Sea Coast, Turkey jon_and_liz... dog ıntestınes were that long and I dıdn't stop to see ıf anythıng was home ın the cracked tortıse shell. The border crossıng went pretty smoothly. It was my fırst proper one on the whole trıp as I left the EU border. 4 or so check poınts, no searches (that I'm gonna speak of) plenty of soldıers standıng around and perched ın watchtowers wıth guns, no vısa fees (every country loves Kıwıs) and lots of ınterest and questıons from men ın unıform. A well fortıfıed mılıtary style ...

Beıng the holıday after Ramadan Turks were here by the bus full. It was here that the turkısh hospıtallıty started to show ıtself for not only were we chatted wıth at every turn but we were ınvıted to joın famıly pıcnıcs and offered rıdes back to town. Trabzon, Turkey ckalenchuk... to drive through a couple of tunnels. The second one was the longest and coldest. We made a stop at Nunu's soul brother's shop...ANG...I thought that was pretty funny since the shop Nunu and Baba and Ali started was called ANC. See what I mean, soul brothers. Then there was a nice long argument between Nunu, his mom, and his uncle about visiting some random people and not eating Akçaabat kofte because so and so was going to cook Iftar dinner. I got sick of hearing it so I ...
Trabzon, Turkey abilazer... without a shower hair, dirty jeans, and the house slippers Nunu's grandma makes me wear around the house. Other people were "dressed to the nines" as they say, wearing stiletto heels, slim jeans and had their hair oh so perfect. Oh well. It's not like I'll ever see them again. When the mall closed, we headed out. Nunu's friend, who is actually, as he claims, his best friend (or as I'm saying, his soul brother), has the same kind of car as him. Of course, Nunu ...

Trabzon, Turkey yellowdragon... It is carved into the sheer rockface of a mountain, some 250 metres vertically upwards from the valley below. It is incredible in many ways. That they thought it wise to build an monastery halfway up a sheer cliff is incredible. That they thought it wise to build such a huge place is incredible. The detail in the Chapel frescoes is incredible. That yet again idiots dating back as far as 1832 thought it wise to carve their names into walls and paintings dating back ...
