Basic good clean place to stay. Any easy walk to the city center and great showers. It's not the ritz but has a good vibe.

        Cement boxes

As far as hotel rooms go, Safari Inn's rooms are below average - though not unacceptable - but really just cement boxes with a bed and a fan. The price was much more than anywhere else we'd paid, but of course being in the capital we expected to pay more. They had a TV for guests to use - but we found that the staff were always watching something instead. If you want cheap, it's a good bet compared to other places nearby. If I were to go back to Dar, I'd stay at the YWCA.

Luckily I'm not sick (this time...) - I just sit bent over my bag in as near to the foetal position as possible, trying to tell my stomach that it is mistaken, and we definitely aren't on a boat swaying and bouncing up and down over wave after wave.
