... plight of the immigrant workers hired by dodgy employment agencies. They are from Pakistan, Bangladesh and India and are lured here by the promise of generous wages and accommodation. This is their dream but it is crushed when they arrive, their passports are taken, they are paid pittance and put into disgraceful, over crowded labour camps. Dubai leaves me cold. It lacks soul and knowing the suffering behind the wealth makes for an uneasy ...

Burj Khalifa is surrounded by hotels, and an amazing shopping complex that will probably take one a couple of days to get through and a large Aquarium lies near the entrance. The view from the observation deck was spectacular and I even managed to purchase a Christmas decoration from here.

Ellie and Michael met us at the entrance after our tour and we went for a walk around some of the ...

As you can tell, everything in Dubai is the biggest. Just outside the Mall is the Burj Khalifa which is the world's tallest man made structure. We photographed it but chose not to go up in the super fast lift. You have to book in advance and pay quite a bit. We've been up plenty other ...
