TravelPod's Snapshot

Saddle West Hotel proves that there is more to Nevada than just Las Vegas. Pahrump has one of the most enjoyable casinos in the area, partly because it includes both a hotel and an RV park for mobile travelers looking to see the country in their campers. Guests who have stayed here commend the hotel for its large rooms, the RV section for its facilities, and the entire resort for its buffet offerings and gaming opportunities. The ability to eat and play right on-site adds to the hotel's convenience and allows guests to get a lot of value for their money.

      Found cockroach in bed ...

Outside this complex the place is crawling with cockroaches and beetles. Some of the roomdoors are not good enough connected with the ground, so those animals can easily walk into the rooms.

We found a dead cockroach in one of the beds and we went to the lady at the desk who gave us another room instead. This one was ok. So the staff was willing to help, that was great. Also when we forgot our keys in our car and they where willing to make the call to the locksmith, which we really appreciated.

The rooms are of good size and the bathroom is nice too. Some rooms got WIFI and a fridge. Conclusion: rooms and staff are good, but we won't come back here cause of (dead) insects in the room(s).

The room was well sized and pretty comfy for what we needed. We got there a little late for food and there was little in the way of vegetarian options for my travelling companion (we went to Taco Bell instead). Not to say that the food was bad, I couldn 't judge as we didn't eat there.

It's a hotel/casino deal which is all good as the rooms are located quite a way from the casino itself, but not too far for you to walk comfortably.

We slept well in the beds, my only complaint was (and this seemed to go for everywhere we stayed) that the towels were really small, like large hand towels. Bit odd considering there's a shower in there that they obviously expect you to use.

The staff were friendly and accommodating and the grounds were well kept and looked nice. We didn't use the pool but only cos we were there after it shut for the evening.

... 15/ngt and free hot spring baths, we couldn't argue! Admittedly, the baths were nude, but segregated male/female, and boy, were they nice, particularly on the cold, cold evening we were there. We were surprised to find so many Korean tourists here, being stalwart and camping in tents (brrrr!), but spending lots of time in the baths! We enjoyed the soak and slept like logs that night! ...

I love high temps with zero humidity

... They looked like they had been empty for quite some time.
Just before we entered Death Valley National Park we came across road work signs. One even saying to expect delays up to 20 mins!!! Really?? Where the temp was 100F?? They were resealing a section of the road but fortunately we only had a minute or two wait. Then there was a special truck in front that was our 'Pilot Car' with the sign 'Follow Me'. Sure does make sure you keep to the speed limit.
