So after a 5 hour drive back to L.A. (stop over at Barstow for a double-double of course) we made it to the studios ready to see the taping. On arrival we were advised that we were 12th and 13th in line and to take a seat. This mind you was 90 mins before the taping was due to commence.
Over the next 15-20 mins we were advised by the attendants that our tickets are a 1st come 1st served basis.... At the Jay Leno show a few ...
A lovely day -- with an easy drive out to Sacramento, a good day visiting Sac State (which is a very pretty campus, especially this time of year, with the leaves changing), then an easy drive home. Definitely a long day, and I was exhausted by the end of it, but not a bad one at all.
We were sad the group had disbanded this morning, but at least it ended in without hurt feelings,. We have no clue what comes next, but we need to clear our heads first. we spend the night at a nice little motel. and finally give Betsy a well earned wash, the ...
Auburn, California, United States h2andbluesAfter we left Yosemite we went straight to Jessica's mom's, near Sacramento. It was the perfect place to spend our last weekend on the road. A small bbq was planned, and man was it nice to eat some good food, instead of only items coming out of a box or a can.
I got to meet some of Jessica's family that I never had before, and hang out with some of my old friends from school. Joe Kellie, and ...
... labor clearing fallen trees and brush; learning the proper way to burn the cuttings. We has a fire from 9am - 8pm...the beer at the end of the day was well deserved. More then anything connecting with Ken and Terry was the most enjoyable...thanks.
It was my fall break of my senior year in college and my roommate and I were looking for a fun getaway. She had an uncle she was quite close to who lived in Sacramento so we decided to make a trip out there to visit!
A College friend of ours who had graduated the previous year had signed up from Americorps and she was stationed out this way ...
I woke early for the last leg of my journey feeling betwixt and between. Anxious to be home in the bosom of family and comfort of my bed, and sad to have the adventure behind me.
Thinking no further explorations would present themselves I saw a strange abode off the road in the middle of the dessert a couple of hours West of Winnemucca. I took the next exit, got onto a frontage road ...
... and loved the courtyard at Ninos Hotel, as well as the Foundation that the Ninos Hotel supports.
8-9) Tie between Casa Palermitano in Buenos Aires and Rupa Wasi Lodge in Aguas Calientes. The owner of Casa P was wonderful and super friendly, the house was awesome, but it was a bit noisy. Rupa Wasi was nice enough, but overpriced (although relatively OK for that town), but we hated Aguas Calientes itself.
10) Las Terrazas Hotel ...
... downstream rocks in the riverbed, in submerged tree roots along the riverbed, etc. The other detail is that, because it is so heavy, it generally sinks deep into the riverbed, so you have to dig deep to find it. Once you find a spot, you take your shovel or trowel and dig a bucket-load of dirt, rocks, mud, and sand. You take the bucket and you begin to sort it (they call it "classify"-I say, it's glorified rock cleaning). First, you go through all the big rocks , clean them off, and ...
Colfax, California, United States carrieandbob... and four people were busy standing around. During my check in, I mention that the "change oil" light displayed the entire time I had the car. I asked if we were now supposed to return the car with a full tank of gas and fresh oil. Apparently not yet, but that may be in the memo instructing us to have the car washed before it is returned. The car rental attendant wasn't amused by my comments so early in the morning.
