Another quiet day. Charly and I have a short rideout in the mountains around Kemer but K-H is unwell and so stays at home.

We stop and take a table at a shady cafe. There seems to be quite a lot of Jandarma (country police) around. In fact, an awful lot, mostly toting evil looking machine guns. It turns out it is the local cop shop so we don't get our cay, but we do get a lot of smiles ...

... trip, they met again about a year ago. Rachel noticed that Tim was "all grown up". Sparks, fireworks, yadda-yadda-yadda, and they decided to start a long distance relationship.

One year later, they are travelling the world for about 8 months. And after that? That’s the big question. You could write a romantic comedy about this stuff.

... a slight bit of snow on the top. The weather was perfect. The breakfast was traditional Turkish, so there were tomatoes, cucumber, and olives. Gözleme was also served. They roll out dough into thin pieces then place cheese and parsley or other ingredients on top before folding to over and placing it on a griddle. My personal favourite was the kaymak (kind of like butter) ...

... a lot of the usual ruins (lycian tombs & sarcophagus's) but in very natural surroundings. The tombs have all been broken into by grave robbers. We also saw the remains of houses/temples that had amazing mosaic work on the floor - in the religious temple they had ones that depicted birds and other animals. There was another house that had an area that had a pizza oven... well you know - they didn't use it ...

... then a few kms along the main road, we head back down the next winding steep road to the coast, which takes us to some more lovely beaches and small villages. But these have seen a lot more development than Cirali and there are acres of holiday homes and hotels and restaurants offering hamburgers and chips (clearly targeting the Brits who come here) at many of them). In the middle of summer these beaches must be packed, but now they are practically deserted - it's ...
