We then ran frantically down to the water, partly out of the desire to swim, party out of the desire not to melt the soles of our feet. Much the amusement of the beach's crowds (one old man missing most of his teeth), we played baseball standing waist-deep in the ocean, flailing after line drives and swinging ...

She had been worried that we couldn't make the train as there was only 15 minutes between my arrival and the Thunder-bird's departure but as the experience traveler I knew there would be plenty of time and I even put my bags in lockers which luckily was on the same platform as the train.
