... homes are shared by multi-generational families.
Before heading home we picked up some groceries. Next door was a 'hole in the wall' where alcohol could be purchased. You must have a residency card before applying for a liquor licence card needed to purchase beer or wine.

... they were here, and our apartment had put on lots of traditional things to see down by the entrance to our apartment building. Dad even held a falcon and stood next to a camel! There was also a bit of rain when they were here (!) which was very unusual!!

We had such a good time! Hopefully they will be back soon!! xx

... Taj Mahal but decided against it as it entailed a 6-hour plus round trip the day before we flew back to Australia. Instead we went to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial and Museum, which Lach had already been to with Mum, Dad and Gem. He showed me all the good bits, pretty amazing to see the spot where Gandhi was assassinated. So my 2-and-a-half month adventure is drawing to a close. ... how people lived back then. Um, I used the bathrooms and bought a magnet. Not my favorite stop. Then we checked in at the hotel: The Crowne Plaza, Yas Island. Yas Island has the Yas Waterpark and Ferrari World Theme Park. There's also a Formula 1 racetrack. For a woman who hadn't owned a car in over 14 years, I was not impressed.
