Wow Mallorca, what an awesome place!!
Its difficult to think of what it didn't have to offer. What did it have to offer? Beautiful mountain and coastal scenery, fabulous food, great beaches, historical market squares and ancient architecture, quaint and quiet villages and farms, friendly people. Sure there were alot of tourists in some parts and some of the most picturesque bays were crowded beyond belief with English holidaymakers. So its not perfect by ...
... water. We only made it to the top of our legs before we called it quits, but some people were brave enough to swim. We tanned some more before heading to some souvenir shops.
When we got back from the beach, we went to the spa for a few hours and had the chance to relax one last time on the cruise ship. We watched the boat depart from the port from the outdoor spa on the back of the cruise. It was a neat experience!
... we saw Steve (about eight years since Vicky’s wedding in the Dominican Republic) and it was great to see him in his role as uncle to five-year-old Marc. They played all sorts of games together on the beach and their relationship is so cute and obviously full of love and laughter and silliness and fun. Completely adorbz.
(Oh, okay fine, I admit it. Second book in a row that’s left me sobbing. Who am I - some kind of sappy girl? ...
... was still bright enough that we had a great view of all the beauty greeting us around every corner.
Back across the island in Manacor, we had a very sleepy dinner and headed home to bed, tired and happy.
So our first full day in Mallorca and we were able to spend it with family (a true treat) in my Aunt Susan, cousin Vicky and her lovely boy Marc. For those reading who are unaware, Susan is my Dad’s sister ...
... the gist of which is - we made it, just...and the security guy stole our wine. Rude!
Now that said ordeal was done we were able to relax for the very quick flight to Palma - hours of headache for a 30 minute flight... (Double sigh.)
