Sit back we are still in the jungle!!! ;)

... melt...I am not letting myself think what 'summer' will be like.

The two organisations I will be working with are great; I can see me just loving working with them. There will be lots of variety in my work, and driving between offices and training centres ...don't think I will ever have such a beautiful drive to work again in my life! They are all very happy to have me working with them and are making me feel very welcome. Interestingly I am older than most of my ...

Alive on Death Railway

... view, ears cocked to see if the train was coming (which it never did, thankfully). The cave was crud, except for the Bhudda statue in it, but the view was quality - see pics!
I then scooted another 20KM's or so over to Sai Yok Noi Waterfall - again, not particularly what I was after, but a bonus as it is on the way to the main highlight. The waterfall is pretty cool, even for an artificial one. 3 minutes walk to the right of the fall there is a Japanese locomotive ...

resting right beside de kwan river!

... you really know that the group, as a group, must come to an end in some point. I decided to travel together for a reason, donīt know exactly why but I definitely believe that there are things to be done on your own, The many things that amaze me all over the way, the people I meet and the difficulties I face to make myself understood or to find a simple bus to my next destiny are so important, it changes me, I makes me strong in some way, so far I have ...

Waterfalls, Rafting, Caving, Elephants & Frisbees

... the waterfall stuck out the most though. There was one layer, which I think was the 4th or 5th layer that had a natural waterslide that was so much fun to slide down. We first noticed it when we walked by and we saw a bunch of Thai boys climbing all over it and sliding in, so we decided to give it a try. After the first time going down we were hooked, until too many people from our group started showing up and saw what we were doing and decided to do it as well ...

Retreat over the River Kwai

... today and took a 25 min ride over very narrow viaducts that were built 66 years ago by the POWs. After this we saw the bridge over the River Kwai....made famous by the film starring Alec Guinness, check it out. As it was blown up by the Americans at the end of the war, only some of the original bridge remains but again is worth seeing after finding out what the POWs and Asian workers endured in building it.

We headed back and went for kip and ...

Baan Dada Childrens Home

... org We arrived at Sangklaburi bus station just before 5pm which was luckily the time we had arranged to meet Dada. An hour and a *********** and we started to worry! Sangklaburi is a small town - we had no number to call, the only internet place was closed and we weren't quite sure what to do with ourselves! Our journey had started at 9pm the previous evening so we were pretty tired and spaced out, not to mention covered in 2 days worth of grime ...

Early to rise to a fantastic day

... old named Katrina-buri. Docile. But doesn't like you to touch behind her ears or her ears-she flaps them in protest. Back to the corral, fed big guy Erawan (named for national park nearby). Long worn tusks. Head has long black bristley hairs that stand straight up. Rough, furrowed, tough skin. Some have dappled pink ears and faces. Feet are so flat with the big smooth toenails. Gave him basket of little short bananas, one by one. First to his ...

Tong Day!! Floating Markets, Tiger Temple & More

... ourselves in for!! Full Moon likes to play and as soon as we got in the water she started playing bucking bronco!!! Of course, we both immediately fell off but we had a great time spending the next 2 hours trying to stay on her and her having a great time splashing us!! Then, we were taught how to climb up on her by hopping on her foot and then getting on her trunk and then finally up and over her head. Joe, of course the original Monkey man, had no ...
