... we found the noise was being caused by... a school class being taught in the hotel restaurant. At 7 am. Quite strange! We continued our dodgy transport choices by going in a tuk-tuk which was temporarily broken down by the side of the road. The driver realised he wasn't in a great negotaiting position so halved his initial (overly high) quote when we laughed at him.

The golden temple, for me, was better than the Taj. The atmosphere is incredible. Its the Kaaba of Sikhism. The whole time there are religious hums being sung over the loudspeakers, sometimes they read from their book. They have a book. Its a holy book (I apologize I didn't do my Sikh homework). They wake it up every morning, ceremoniously transport it from one end of the complex and into the temple. Then at night ...
